Imperial Ancestral Temple

The Working People's Cultural Palace of east Tian’anmen Square is the Imperial Ancestral Temple of Ming and Qing Dynasties. The Imperial Ancestral Temple was the home temple for emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties sacrificing to ancestors.

Altar of Land and Grain

Zhongshan Park is the altar for gods of land and grain in Ming and Qing Dynasties, and main buildings are Altar of Land and Grain, Bai Dian (Worship Hall), and subsidiary buildings including Ji Men, Sacrificial Storehouse, Sacrificial Kitchen, Slaughter Pavilion, etc.

Temple of Heaven

Tiantan Park is the seat of the Temple of Heaven in the Ming and Qing Dynasties (1368 - 1911). Temple of Heaven was visited by the Emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties for annual ceremonies of prayer to Heaven for good harvest and rain.

Temple of Earth

Ditan Park is the seat of the Temple of Earth in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The Temple of Earth is called Fang Ze Tan, or "square water altar". Emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties would attend the annual summer solstice ritual of offerings to the heaven.

Temple of the Sun

Ritan was the venue where the emperors offered sacrifice to the Sun during Ming and Qing Dynasties. It covers an area of 206,200 square meters, of which 173,192.52 square meters are covered by greenery, 4,700 square meters covered by water, and 10,357 square meters covered by ancient architectures.

Temple of the Moon

Yuetan Park is the seat of the Temple of the Moon in the Ming and Qing Dynasties (1368 - 1911). Originally named Xiyue (the moon at night) Altar. It was the place where emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties offered sacrifice to the God of the Moon and the Gods of the Stars.

Temple of Agriculture

Temple of Agriculture, also called Shanchuan Tan, was first built in 1420, the 18th year during the reign of the Yongle Emperor of the Ming dynasty, with a history of over 580 years.
