Nicknamed “the Train to Spring” by many of its fans, I bet you have already heard of the Line S2 to the suburb of Beijing. But, don’t be misguided by its nickname, autumn is also a good time to explore the suburb of Beijing by Line S2.
Train 6437, renowned for its slowness, is from Beijing West Station to Daijian. Costing only 16.5 yuan per person, the train stations at 13 scenic spots along the journey include Yan Mountains, Yunju Temple, Shidu, Wild Three Hillsides, etc. The weekends (two days) are enough for the trip if you depart in the afternoon of a Friday.
Train 4415 is a vintage train bound for Zhangjiakou South Railway Station. Costing only 14.5 yuan per person, the whole journey covers 196km. Trundling slowly onwards, the train offers travelers plenty of time to enjoy the stunning view of the majestic mountains in the west of Beijing. The journey will be more comfortable, relaxed and also a bit nostalgic with it.
Known as the backyard of Beijing, Ji County is a place brimming with natural landscape and delicious food. Tourists can take K7783, which costs 14.5 yuan per person, to Ji County. The train is from Beijing East Railway Station to Jixian Station. The train is only available twice a day (both way, one in the morning, the other in the afternoon).
